Hi there! I’m Melissa Gordon, a photographer in Salina, KS.
Although I love shooting families, my passion is photographing teen and senior girls. Adolescence is one of those unique times in a girl’s life when she is discovering who she is and is learning to define herself. Unfortunately, it’s also a time of uncertainty that can undermine her confidence.
I love working with teen girls to create a fun, successful photo shoot that can reveal the beauty in these girls that they may not see themselves. It can be empowering for them, giving them a sense of confidence and identity that carries them into new chapters of their lives.
But I don’t stop with teens. I love working with their moms, too! Or any woman for that matter. You see, most women fear having their portrait taken. As soon as a camera appears, they duck behind something to avoid being in the picture. Why do they do that?
They may have felt confident with their looks years ago, but since then, they may have had a few children and become preoccupied with their families and careers. They’re not so certain how they’ll look in pictures, but I know something they don’t.
They are more beautiful than they think!
I know I can take images of them that will make them look their best, that will bring out the beauty they may have a hard time seeing. And I do this in way that is fun and relaxing. And I encourage you to bring a friend!
